menō · G3306 · GREEK
Abiding in Greek is menō — to stay, to remain, to dwell. It is the opposite of striving, achieving, or moving on to something better. Menō appears over 40 times in John's gospel alone, and Jesus uses it to describe the kind of connection that produces fruit, answered prayer, and love that lasts. At its core, menō is an act of deliberate, sustained presence — choosing not to leave, not to drift, not to move on, but to stay in the one place where life is actually found.
