anav Β· H6035 Β· HEBREW
The Hebrew word anav (Χ’ΦΈΧ ΦΈΧ) describes a posture of soul that the modern world fundamentally misreads. The anav person is emptied of self-assertion β not because they have nothing, but because they have found something better than pushing their own way; gentle toward those they could overpower β strength under control, placed in service of others rather than self; and lowly enough to be lifted β positioned in the only posture that allows God to exalt rather than having to humble them. It is the posture of Moses, the beatitude of Jesus, and the path of everyone who truly inherits anything.
